A Holistic Approach

Approach

Mind

In addition to cognitive-behavioural therapy, I offer a range of techniques including mindfulness, guided imagery, hypnosis, experiential therapy including gestalt awareness, interpersonal and process-oriented psychology, psychodynamic approaches, relationship counselling and family therapy.

Body

Manual muscle testing (aka applied kinesiology) is a gentle way to access your body's deeper wisdom. With the understanding that everything is energy, we can then work directly with the body's energy systems using chakra and meridian tapping techniques, holding and postural exercises, and many other energy-based therapies to work through blocks and bring about positive change.

Soul

Soul-centered therapy allows us to explore psychological principles from the perspective of the Soul and our higher-self wisdom in terms of our purpose and evolution.  This type of work can involve techniques such as dream work, shamanic healing interventions, and Soul Detective™ Protocols.

Although energy-based therapies, the Soul Detective™ Method, dream work, shamanic healing methods, and some of the other techniques mentioned above appear to have promising emotional, spiritual and physical health benefits, these approaches have yet to be fully researched by the Western academic, medical, and psychological communities. Therefore, these approaches are not considered evidence-based therapy interventions at this time.

Fees & Cancellation Policy

Fees & Cancellation Policy

Fees

Services offered by a psychologist are not covered by OHIP, but rather work on a fee for service basis so that you pay at the end of each session. Fees for psychological services may be  reimbursed, at least to some extent, by extended health insurance or employee benefits programs. Please consult with the appropriate provider to determine your coverage for psychological services and whether a physician’s referral is required for reimbursement. Whatever is not covered by your insurance company is claimable as a tax deduction on your income tax as a medical expense. Payment may be made by e-transfer (drshunjan@yahoo.com) or credit card and you will be provided with a receipt for submission to your insurance company or for tax purposes. For more information about fees, please contact Dr. Hunjan.

No-show and late cancellation policy

Except for reasons related to illness, 24-hours notice is required if you need to cancel or re-schedule an appointment, or there is a full session fee. Such fees are not usually covered by insurance providers.
